We have so much love for the quirky, fun designs of Spanish childrenswear label The Animals Observatory (TAO). Yes, it's a little out of our price range, but the quality is great and the clothing has great resale value, so you can always justify as investment pieces. The spring/summer collection is just dreamy, drawing on retro 70s styles with nods to the muted palette of Eric Rohmer's films and slogans using Tex Avery-influenced cartoon typography. I adore the unexpected touches, such as an embroidered patch on a lace dress – TAO clothing brings a serious fashion edge to your child's wardrobe. Footwear is also covered with an ultra-cool collaboration with Reebok. I've picked a few of my favourites, but do check out this gorgeous video of the collection as well.
Dolphin dress in Green, £120, Junior Edition.
TAO x Reebok hi-tops, £52, Alex & Alexa.
Whale dress in Yellow, £75.
Rooster oversized t-shirt in Blue, £42, Scout & Co.
Clownfish swimsuit in Yellow, £62, Smallable.
