There’s not much in the way of kids dressing up gear that excites me, mainly because they tend to be a bit lairy in colour or TV character led, so I was quite pleased to see some stylish buys at Nubie, hotspot of modern kids gear.
The turquoise fairy wings, £12.99, are wonderfully detailed with flowers and organza trim and striking wing pattern, the bunny/mouse costume, £24.99, is irresistibly cute and cleverly features interchangeable ears and tails so they can hop (ahem) between being a rabbit or a mouse. The fairy costume in fresh green, £14.99, has a fabulously floaty skirt and there’s a peg leg pirate set which features the striped trousers with peg leg, waistcoat, shirt, hat, eye-patch, and cutlass. There’s also other fairy, princess, elves, cowboy and gladiator costumes amongst the collection. Most of them are sized for around age 3 with room to last for a couple years and the bunny/mouse starts from age 1.5 years. Cute but rather cool.
