Let’s face it, if the Bambino were ever to have a baby brother or sister, buying gifts could be difficult. I think Sprogbox might well have the solution.

The company was set up by two Mamas who received a lot of flowers following the birth of their babies. When they looked for baby hampers online they were disappointed by the frilly results. Like every sensible Mama they started their own company to fill the gap. In their words: “Our gift selections include the most funky, innovative, pampering and really useful presents we can find. We use a simple rule for selecting our products – if we wouldn’t have liked to receive them ourselves – they don’t get on the web site.”

You can either build your own box or buy a ready made box to save time. In the build your own section you can either browse all products or select a category such as baby gifts, mum gifts or even toddler gifts. The ready made section has a wide variety to choose from with prices ranging from £20 for a dad to be box to £100 for a mum, dad and baby box. Other box themes include: water baby, sleeptight baby, brainy baby and twins. Once you have chosen a ready made box you are still able to add other gifts in the ‘customise’ section.

Postage starts at a very reasonable £3.95 for standard first class, although orders over £70 are automatically sent special delivery at a cost of £9.95 (with gift packaging and message). You can even send a Sprogbox to Europe for £15.

What would I order for Bambino Number Two? Has to be the funky baby box at £75. It contains a No Added Sugar ‘Enjoy Milk’ baby grow, a baby hat, a Whoosit ‘Cosmic Water Teether’, A rose bud of socks, A hip hop baby CD, a cuddly knitted Mr Red Robot and Urban Babies Wear Black a board book for the modern bambino.
