It’s time for a dose of sumptuous furniture for kids with big(ish) pricetags. I featured Perludi’s Amber in the Sky bunkbed a few months back which has an eyewatering pricetag of over €2100 and the Austrian design company have applied the same design aesthetics to their Oskar at Work table and bench and their Constantin rocking horse (or possibly a rabbit depending on how you look at it).
The structures are made from plywood combined with a recently developed composite material from Austria called Loden. This is 100% wool that’s wear resistant and fleecy and is used as the covering, and the designers call it ‘please touch’ as they want their tactile furniture to be touched and inspire creative play.
100% recyclable, the loden can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush and is highly durable, so the furniture is made to stand the test of time. Both the bench and table feature a storage shelf and the rocking horse is foldable making it easy to stow. They’re available in orange, green, sand and brown. The Oskar at Work is £320 for the table and £125 per bench and the Constantin is £198 from Monsters & Munchkins.
