If you’d asked me a few weeks ago I’d have said that Paul Smith’s kids’ clothing wasn’t my cup of tea, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the newly launched Paul Smith Junior collection, which features a few real gems alongside the more traditional slogan tees. For boys, I am loving these cord dungarees with cute but cool bunny-print lining, £74, and the lambswool-mix beanie in Smith’s signature stripe, £48.
For girls, I adore the button detail on the flippy wool skirt, £68 and the tomato-red cashmere-mix baby dress, £74, has a real Fifties vibe.
There is also a fabulous range of coats for 2 to 6-year-old girls. I particularly like the super-stylish blazer, £135 – wish they made it for big girls! Ok, it’s expensive but, if you feel like making an investment, this is the best of British fashion so will stand the test of time (or have good resale value on eBay!).
