I love the concept behind Gymnasium from Mater Design. Mater Design work with the most talented designers in Denmark to create unique and sustainable design. Gymnasium is designed by Soren Rose based on a limited edition run of cabinets made from recycled gymnasium floorboards. The mass produced line uses sustainable materials and pays homage to the gym in the design.
Each of the four cabinet styles has a gym name like full court or half court and comes in pine or oak. The limited edition line made from old gym floorboards comes in just baseline or free throw (pictured below). Each cabinet has two shelves inside except full court which has just one. They would make stylish storage for both children’s and adult spaces.
Prices start at 932.50 Euros for the oak and pine free throw and 2,666.25 Euros for the limited edition floorboard free throw from Emanuel’s Eco Store who ship to the UK.
