I was a bit fascinated when I read in last months Prima Baby magazine (research purposes only!) that Clearblue, leading makers of pregnancy tests have introduced a conception indicator with digital product. So now, instead of just finding out that you’re pregnant, it will tell you approximately how long it is since you conceived – i.e. 1 week, 2 weeks, or 3 weeks plus. This could certainly be up the street of curious/gadget loving mamas!
The basic science behind it is that it measures the levels of the pregnancy hormone hCG, which the volume of in your body doubles every 2-3 days until it reaches it’s maximum level some time between 7 to 12 weeks. I didn’t know about the existence of this test when I find out I was pregnant with baby 2 but to be fair, I knew I must be fairly pregnant as it pretty much said positive less than 10 seconds after I peed…
You can find out more about the Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Conception Indicator at Clear Blue and where to buy. If you’re patient enough to wait for one to turn up in the post, they’re £9.99 at Gordon’s Chemists (RRP £13.99)
