Probably the most exciting thing for Alfie about going into Year Three is that he has to take a fully stocked pencil case. Luckily, he acquired a mummy tin (see below) from The British Museum last week (Egypt is one of their first topics), so we don’t have to venture into Smiggle, but I did do a bit of research, just in case he changed his mind. Here are a few of my favourite finds. Wish me luck when it comes to him choosing pencil sharpeners and rubbers…
Things That Go Fast, £8, Cath Kidston. | Don Fisher plaice, £22.95, Howkapow. | Lovebirds, £15, Blank Inside. | Wooden box (with coloured pencils and sharpener), £8, Marks & Spencer. | Mummy tin, £5.99, The British Museum. | Cat, £14.50, Orla Kiely.
Pina pineapple, £10, Rosa & Clara. | Unicorn, £4.49, WH Smith. | Lego brick, £4.99, Toys R Us. | Bugs tin, £5, Paperchase. | NPW Doodlecase, £4.95, Paper Ducks. | Whale, £10, John Lewis.
