We’re big fans of wall stickers as an affordable and easy way to update your child’s room decor, but unfortunately they don’t always live up to the hype. I’ve suffered peeling corners (scruffy), ripping (tear-inducing) and damage to paintwork (just plain annoying). Another hit from our friends Down Under, 41 Orchard wall stickers seem to be as good as they sound. Made from fabric, they’re durable enough to withstand the most heavy-handed toddler treatment (they seem Alfie-proof)Â and can be moved around with no effect on your walls and no loss of stickiness.
They are also some of the cutest – but not too cutesy, obviously – designs I’ve seen in a while. I’m loving the Woodland Collection idea where you buy a tree stump, then add forest animals and/or birds, above, in the colourway of your choice, and clearly the high percentage of owls on the site is a winner (we have Owl on Branch on the end of our Tidy Books Tidy Box) but, in our house, the Little Cars set, top, has been the biggest success. Super-easy to take off the backing (another bugbear) of mine and the colours are really vibrant. At about £30 a set (plus about £6 p&p to the UK – arrived speedily in a poster tube) they’re not the cheapest, but I’d say the durability is worth it. Happy sticking!
