I am a bit of an information junkie and since finding out I am expecting our third child I have download one or eight free pregnancy apps on my iPhone. Out of all of the apps I have tried the hands down champion is What to Expect a spin off from Heidi Murkoff, Author of the popular What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Nat’s favourite pregnancy book.
The app has a general information screen which shows your due date, current gestational age, count down to d-day, trimester and the size of your baby as a fruit or vegetable (I love this bit). Next up is weekly information about your body and baby and then daily information and tips about what you should be doing or thinking about at each stage. There is a page for you to store weekly photos of your bump as well as access to online forums.
The information in this app is far more detailed than in others I have tried and I love the conversational tone it is written in. The day by day drip feed of titbits means I can check in more frequently than just a weekly update -good for those of you who are information addicts. I’ve found the forums useful when I want to kill time especially the ones discussing names.
All in all the What to Expect app is a hot download and the fact that it’s free makes it all the sweeter.
