One of my close friends recently had her third baby and I wanted to find something fabulous and frivolous to go with the more practical (but obviously still fabulous) bits I had bought her. Step up Japanese artist Junzo Terada (he of Magical Menagerie fame) and his Birds in Flight mobile. Produced by the ever-innovative Chronicle Books, Birds in Flight is made from cardboard printed with exquisite, colourful Oriental designs and slots together to form four little feathered friends circling a cheery sun/moon in the centre.
The wire rods and string are included in the pack and it looks pretty simple to construct (although I’ll get confirmation from my friend) and it’s a really reasonable £9.79 on Amazon. A great way to introduce stylish art into a nursery without forking out a fortune and a brilliant postable pressie.
