Another sweetly simple app this week, Wee Society’s Wee Alphas explores the alphabet with an animal representing each letter. Find the letter hidden in the animal illustration, listen to or read the alliterative text and enjoy the animation – change the weather with Don the dinosaur, hear Eli the elephant whistle and watch Sidney squirrel sneeze. Once your little one has completed the whole alphabet, they can choose their own special letter and learn how to trace it. This has been a big hit in our house – Alfie can already write most of his letters, but this has definitely refined them. And it’s fun to boot. £1.99, the App Store. You can also snap up a print of the animal alphabet or a personalised individual letter at the Wee Society shop, from $40.
