We’re in the last week of the Fringe Festival here in Brighton, so I wanted to tell you about a lovely puppet show you still have chance to catch. It’s called Meadow and is the handiwork of theatre company Old Saw. It was enchanting from start to finish, featuring exquisite puppets made from natural materials and expertly handled by the three puppeteers. It tells the story of the inhabitants of a meadow, from hopping bunnies, swooping owls, dancing deer, frisky fireflies and a friendly fox, all accompanied by an atmospheric musical score, specially composed for the show. Alfie and Kitty were both transfixed, although I would say it’s more suited to younger children. A thoroughly enjoyable 45 minutes of theatre, catch the final performance at 10.30am today at The Warren.
