The Story Corner: Taro Gomi’s Growing Together

Taro Gomi is probably best known for the wonderful Everybody Poos! which is always a big hit with small people. We have lots of Gomi’s books and our favourite is My Friends which is part of a box set. I’m loving this latest box set of board books Growing Together (Phaidon, RRP £12.95). The collection comprises four titles: Exploring, Sharing, Growing and Imagining and they are all delightful. Each one follows two family members – a boy and his father go on imaginary adventures together, two sisters practise sharing, a boy remembers when he was a baby and a little girl tries to imagine her mother’s life before she became a mother. They are, of course, beautifully illustrated and would make a special gift for a toddler, perhaps one that’s recently welcomed a new sibling.
