I’ve been asked on a number of occasions by Stokke Xplory owning readers whether there was a buggy board that I could recommend, as with the impending arrival of a newborn they really didn’t want to give up their pride and joy and go down the double pushchair route.
Finally, whilst it’s not a double Stokke Xplory (I’m sure that would be a delight to behold), it’s the next best thing in the form of the The Stokke Xplory Rider, a board that attaches to the back of the Xplory chassis for toddlers over 2 years (up to 20kg) to stand upon, which can be folded down and stowed away when it’s not in use.
Available from January with a RRP of £84, this will no doubt be welcome news for those feeling pensive about selling up for a double as until now there’s been no approved options from other manufacturers.

****Important update**** Unfortunately the Stokke Xplory Rider is only for new Xplory models (circa Jan 2010) due to stability issues when tested for older models. This was not information we were not made aware of when we ran this news piece in November ’09 and we recognise that this greatly affects the original perception that we had of the product.
