It’s well-known that I can’t abide the dreaded *shudder* Crocs, but I do appreciate the need for a beach shoe, particularly for little ones. I’m a big fan of Sun-San sandals – I’ve barely taken off my yellow Saltwaters and Alfie has lived in his navy Sharks this summer – but they are pretty expensive and having a couple of pairs on the go is not really an option. So, I was delighted to hear of the return of Sun Jellies, the original Méduse Sun jelly shoes that I used to wear as a child holidaying in France. They’ve been made there, from phthalate-free PVC, since 1946, when they were invented following a post-war shortage of leather. There’s a rainbow of 14 colours to choose from – I’m thinking Cyan for Alfie (and Fluoro Orange for myself), although at just £13.99 per pair, I’d probably stretch to Fluoro Green for him as well, especially as UK shipping is free. They comes in chlidren’s sizes 23 to 32 and adult sizes 33 to 42, have a lovely retro vibe and, according to friends who have a pair, are incredibly comfortable as well. What’s not to love? See you on the beach.
