The Tiny King by Taro Miura (Walker, RRP £11.99) is currently Kitty’s favourite bedtime read. And I can’t say I mind absorbing the gorgeous illustrations every night. The story isn’t too shabby either – a sweet tale of a diminutive ruler, who is lonely and unhappy until he meets a princess of much larger stature who brings, fun, laughter and a brood of noisy royal babies into his empty castle. Tots will love spotting the king on every page and adults will appreciate the quirky graphics and feelgood ending.
