We’re serious fans of Stella McCartney’s collections for Gap, so much so that I actually snapped up some pieces for myself – and the love continues with her standalone childrenswear brand Stella McCartney Kids which Kat featured a few months back with the launch of their autumn winter collection.
Think high quality fabrics (primarily cashmere and cotton) that are often organic with cool cuts, pumping stripes, warm neutrals, quirky motifs, and dazzling prints. The collection has broad appeal because whether you’re a colour or print fiend, or prefer your neutrals and cute motifs, there’s something in there for everyone. The collection is strong on both the boy and girl front, but quite a few of the pieces can be worn by either sex.
A strong mix of sturdy casual basics and highly wearable dressier and funky delights, there’s already a few pieces from the Spring/Summer collection available online. Think delicious bird prints, stunning florals, 1950s style dresses echoing a hint of Minnie Mouse, detailed denims, fox and dog motifs (hot trend), and chunky bold stripes. The strongest pieces so far are undoubtedly her dresses, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and jumpers and I am crazy about the floral raincoat which annoyingly is sold out (for now). Oh and they still have a sale on their autumn/winter ’10 collection – woop!
