Brrrrrr! It was chilly out there on our countryside walk yesterday, so I was a teensy bit jealous of Alf’s super-cool (or rather super-warm) base layer from The Smalls. As someone who’s quite resistant to wearing fleeces and sweaters, he loves it, as he can just pop it under a top on warmer winter days or, when the chill factor is upped, it acts as central heating when we’re out and about. I love it because it is ultra-soft, washes brilliantly and has fluoro yellow stitching on the smoky grey merino wool (easily pleased!) There are a few colours (navy, natural and dusky pink, all with contrast stitching) to choose from and you can opt for a sleeveless vest instead – ideal under a bridesmaid dress at a winter wedding. Available in sizes from two to twelve years old and costing £26.95 for a tank and £39.95 for the long-sleeved version. Mmmm, toasty.
