Our latest nursery tour comes from Glasgow based BG reader Lindsay, who is mum to Orla, two years, and is due to have another little girl literally any day now – good luck! Lindsay has created a light, airy space with splashes of detail and colour.
Lindsay says: As I think many parents do, I started with an all-white room as I didn’t know the sex of my baby until she was born, and then added splashes of colour and areas of interest once I knew. I think it turned out to be a lovely room if I do say so myself!
The cotbed is the John Lewis ‘Squares’ Cotbed which they don’t seem to sell anymore, but they do have a couple of similar including the Deco cotbed, £367. The ‘Garland’ light is by Habitat and you can find similar in store for around £25. The blanket is the ‘carousel’ by Dwellbaby (now DwellStudio) which I got from Lula Sapphire, the fab moroccan pouffes are from Graham&Green and are £115 each, and the armchair is from the Ektorp range at Ikea but only currently seems to be available with a curved back (Tullsta) for £96.89.
The bunting is from The White Company (for bunting with a vintage touch, BG is crazy about Baby’s Bunting which we featured here). The artwork above the cot is wrapping paper on pinboards – (we’re loving Lindsay’s bit of make-your-own!)
I got the changing mat from Farmore Babies in St Andrews – incidentally one of the nicest baby/child gift/toy shops in the whole country in my opinion, certainly better than anything else in Scotland!
The framed prints are by Petra Boase, with prices starting from around £40. The large letters on the wall are from Morello Living where they do a wide range of letters in fabrics and woods.
Lindsay hasn’t let pregnancy deter her and is now in the process of a creating a toddler bedroom for Orla which she’ll be sharing with us soon.
