Quinny & Maxi Cosi Hit The US

May 14, 2007. Leave a Comment

I am the proud of owner of a Strawberry Quinny Buzz Pushchair (pictured – I also have the Dreami carricot in sulphur which turns it into a pram), and a red Maxi Cosi car seat. I love the design and functionality of the pushchair even though it’s slightly heavier than some of its counterparts. The Maxi Cosi car seat makes it a great travel system and again, I chose the car seat because not only were they beautifully designed, but they score very highly in terms of safety.

I knew when I purchased them that they were quite desirable Stateside but have been unavailable over there until this week…and unsurprisingly, they’re cheaper! The Quinny Buzz Pushchair and Maxi Cosi Car Seats are retailing for $499.99 and $149.99 respectively! Quinny is a Dutch product supplied by Dorel so how the hell does that happen? Here in the UK, the Quinny Buzz retails for around £330 (approx $650) and Maxi Cosi 0+ car seats retail for £99.99 (approx $190)! I didn’t pay full whack for mine – I paid £269 and £84 respectively but that’s not the point! Jaysus it’s like living in rip-off Britain!

My advice: Shop around or if feasible, use a service like Borderlinx which enables UK customers to buy from US websites by providing a US address for your products to be delivered to, after which they ship the product on to the UK.
