I’ve been a fan of Paperboy Interiors ever since I featured their boy centric range of wallpaper last year. While I’m not keen on being too gender focused, it’s no secret that boy owners are often shortchanged in the decor and even style stakes, so it is great to see someone taking boyish themes (that will no doubt appeal to girls too) and giving them a contemporary injection.
Designer Victoria’s collection of wallpapers which also have matching fabrics are thought provoking, statement designs that will stand the test of time. The new designs are ‘How It Works’ (my favourite), which uses their ‘Revolutionary X-ray Detector Machine’ to spy into the ancient secrets of animal locomotion with little mini-engineers, mechanics, and maintenance men oiling the cogs, as well as ‘Ere Be Dragons’ which captures imaginations illustrating what a young boy might do with a dragon such as offering it an apple, and ‘Spitfires’ to mark the 75th anniversary of the iconic English plane.
All made to order in the UK on eco friendly paper and with several colourways to choose from with each incorporating understated shades of blue to dramatic purple and black, to popping pillar red and orange. £60 per 10m roll.
While they’re ‘investment pieces’, check out the handcrafted chairs in Paperboy fabrics by Little Chairs.
