I am the proud owner of a genuine Nature Boy in Alfie and Kitty looks to be well on her way to loving the outdoors as much as her brother. Having a dog definitely helps you get out there and our National Trust membership means that we can access interesting places without shelling out a fortune every weekend. I love the look of Outdoor Wonderland: The Kids’ Guide to Being Outside by Josie Jeffrey (Ivy Press, RRP £9.99) which contains practical tips for forest-school activities such as building dens, hunting mini beasts and stargazing, alongside outdoor craft ideas – making water bombs and sun printing designs onto t-shirts. It’s written in a fun, chatty style, accompanied by appealingly quirky illustrations and would make a lovely gift.
