When Nick Coffer found himself unexpectedly a stay at home dad, he embraced the opportunity to spend more time with his son, Archie. Having always loved to cook and have Archie in the kitchen with him, Nick set up My Daddy Cooks a video recipe blog in November 2009. Since then Nick has seen his hobby turn into his full time occupation. He has just finished working on the first My Daddy Cooks book due out next Spring and starts hosting his own radio show, Three Counties Kitchen, this Sunday.
There is good reason why Nick has enjoyed success; his recipes are delicious and the videos of him cooking with Archie are adorable and hilarious in equal measures. Watching the two work together leaves you in no doubt that cooking with children is possible no matter how young or what the recipe. If you’re looking for inspiration you won’t find the usual recipe suggestions for toddlers but an array of food from around the world as well as simple recipes which are ready quickly.
If you love My Daddy Cooks and want to get your children involved in the kitchen you could, quite literally, get your hands on Nick for an afternoon of cooking fun. Nick is auctioning himself on eBay in aid of the DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal. On offer is one whole afternoon of Nick cooking with your children, in your kitchen. So if you live within a 100 mile radius of Watford and fancy a cook out then hop on over to eBay and place your bid. Bidding ends tomorrow, Friday 20th August 2010 at 2pm.
