Aw, we’re already feeling full of seasonal cheer, so we thought we’d ask some of our designer pals to share their festive faves. First up, Kati from Boys & Girls, purveyors of fabulous unisex childrenswear.
Describe your ideal Christmas Day. Being woken up in the middle of the night by excited kids with stockings – the one day of the year this is obligatory rather than banned. Back to sleep for a few hours. Bucks Fizz breakfast to accompany mass present opening. Christmas dinner – preferably cooked by someone else. All this with extended family and friends and the gaps between filled with games of Bananagrams and finding the odd piece towards the yearly 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle. Perfect.
What was your best ever present? Probably my Sasha Dolls. Around 1976. I loved them.
Do you have any family traditions? See above schedule, but we also: decorate the tree accompanied by Frank Sinatra and a glass of Baileys; sprinkle a magic elf dust trail so Santa and his sleigh definitely don’t miss the house; put out a brandy, mince pie and carrot for Santa and his crew (always appreciated); always light the Christmas pudding.
What’s your favourite thing about the festive season? The decorations. And the After Eight Mints…
What are you hoping to find under the tree this year? A present that hasn’t already been ripped open by the kids…
