I decided to have a go at making the strapping stick hobby horse tutorial over at Mad Mim this last week, and for a total sewing novice I was pleasantly surprised at the result – my sewing projects regularly go unfinished but this one I was able to stick with!  If you hop over to the link you’ll find easy to follow instructions, a free printable PDF pattern and lots of guidance.
This is the one I made. Granted, it’s slightly donkey-like and it’s eyes look like it’s had a few heavy nights out but my kids love my effort. Lola’s now requested a white one with rainbow hair!
