As a big fan of the Dropophone iPhone App (seriously the best app ever for a doctor’s waiting room) I was very interested to hear Lullatone’s new album Looping Lullabies.
When Yoshimi’s niece was born they decided to record some classic lullabies in their own unique style. Using womb sounds, white noise and their familiar notes in each track they have created gentle versions of well known songs which have a relaxing effect. I have always been a little dubious about ‘womb sounds’ but I find the sounds on this record fit really well with the music. The final track is Soft White Noise which is ten minutes of gentle soft sounds which I have been finding oddly calming. This is a perfect record to download for newborns and I think it would be great to use as part of a sleep routine.
They have made the album name your price and you can listen to the whole thing before deciding to download. Personally I think it is worth its weight in gold and have it loaded onto my iPod ready for baby #3.
