Playmats are one of those things that you can become a bit obsessive about, especially when you’re scared of having something lurid in your home that gives you wacko vision. Fortunately, there are some veeery cool playmats out there in all sorts of price ranges, and I have to say, I am loving this Patchwork Sleeping and Playmat by Lilliputiens, who are one of my favourite childrens toy brands that are fantastic at imaginative soft play toy sets.
Their playmat is scrumptious just like their toys and features patchwork playing area with four farm animals, paw prints, a pocket, bits to lift up, noisy parts, and a mirror for stimulation and admiration – the bambino kisses herself in the mirror most days…
If they conk out on the playmat for a nap, you can always slip them under the patchwork onto the polka dot print for a snug nap with a sweet sheep as a cuddle pillow. It’s a proper sleeping bag and you just pull up the zip with the fluffy tail zip handle. It’s a decent size too coming in at 150 X 110 cm and has handy carry handles.
According to the site, magic stars appear at night although I’d imagine they’ll be in the comfort of their own cot by then!
Suitable from birth to around 18 months.
