So, 2020 hasn’t been the best year for plans – I’m sure we’ve all lost count of the number of postponed and cancelled events, celebrations and holidays. We live in hope that 2021 will be better, so why not take that optimism and start getting some dates in the diary. Or on the wall planner. Much as we love our Google calendar, you can’t beat seeing important dates written on paper. And for children, who don’t have the benefit of phones, planners can be a great way of encouraging them to be more independent and remember what they’re supposed to be doing. We love this colourful kids’ planner from Ladyland (of the brilliant lockdown art classes). A1 size and printed with important days and festivals, plus unusual dates to remember (from Talk Like A Pirate Day to Stormzy’s birthday), it’s beautifully bright and costs £20. There’s also a more muted adult version, £20, and optional wooden magnetic hanging frame for display, £22.
