While we’re on the subject of books, one of my favourite reads growing up was Judy Blume’s Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret?, a classic coming-of-age story that explores female relationship bonds, (mother-daughter, grandmother-granddaughter and friends). A film adaptation of the novel is being released in May and to celebrate International Women’s Day and the forthcoming film, we’ve teamed up with Lionsgate to give away a Purple Pamper Pack for you to share with an amazing female in your life.
Lionsgate’s big-screen adaptation (hitting UK cinemas on 19 May) sees 11-year-old Margaret (Abby Ryder Fortson) uprooted from her life in New York City for the suburbs of New Jersey, going through the messy and tumultuous throes of puberty with new friends in a new school. She relies on her mother, Barbara (Rachel McAdams), who is also struggling to adjust to life outside the big city, and her adoring grandmother, Sylvia (Kathy Bates), who isn’t happy they moved away and likes to remind them every chance she gets. It sounds amazing – I can’t wait to see it. Check out the trailer.
