I have been looking for a laminated fabric to replace the PVC oilcloth in our kitchen as much as I loved the design I’m not happy about the health implications of PVC. Trouble is, laminated cloth tends to be expensive and the cheapest option I was looking at was around £45 for a two meter table cloth.
In steps the ever economical Ikea with their new range of acrylic coated fabrics. Available in five colours for a mere £5.99 a metre it is a great everyday option. The coating is lighter than traditional oilcloth so it drapes nicely. Water spills sit on top of the cloth in drops rather than running off which makes cleaning up easy. So far we have not found anything which stains or doesn’t come off easily. Yet another family friendly win from the Swedish giant.
