We heart Hucklebones here at BG. Every time I meet up with the young designers Zoe and Dan at shows, their clothes elicit a sigh of satisfaction, longing, and a desire to run off with the collection. Less than 2 years old, this British label features an exquisite collection of clothing for girls aged 2-4 with a distinct vintage vibe. The pieces are classically tailored but with a modern edge and wonderful detail, and they use sumptuous fabrics and design their own prints each season. It’s one of those labels that we’d like to own a lot of that’s earmarked as ‘special occasions’ or ‘investment pieces’.
Their new spring/summer collection is inspired by the run up to your holiday with the spotty check prints (my favourite) taking its inspiration from the lining of 50’s suitcases. There’s also the swinging lanterns print as well, plus soft shades like oyster, vanilla, sunshine yellow, and a deep cherry. If you can just about remember what it’s like to feel warm here in the UK without the aid of central heating, the dresses conjure up images of running up and down in the sunshine and looking super chic and sweet at the usual merry-go-round of weddings and christenings. Featuring gorgeous dresses, shirts, shorts, jackets, and romper suits, prices start from around £59 for a dress.
Available from Hucklebones as well as stockists that include BG favourites Monsters & Munchkins and Little Fashion Gallery.
