I just nabbed some bargains from the Tate Shop. You can get a copy of Melvin: The Luckiest Monkey in the World, a beautifully illustrated book by Claudia Boldt, where Melvin the monkey discovers that he is not as unlucky as he thinks he is and is a tale of true friendship, for just £2.49 (it’s normally £8.99) and a pack of stickers featuring Melvin and Co for £1 (RRP £4)! Basically, for £3.49 you have a lovely little gift for the little ones. I have ordered a couple of sets to go in the gift drawer. If you want to add a little more to the gift, you can also get a set of Melvin wall stickers for £2 – they’re normally £8!
I also ordered a few copies of Dominika Lipniewska’s 100 Colouring Book for the older kids. There are literally hundreds of objects to colour, decorate and trace in the jumbo-sized book. Each spread offers 100 outline drawings of beasts and birds or buildings old and new, varieties of vehicles or yummy things to eat, distinctly diverse insects or all kinds of plants – every single object is different, and all they need is some creative flair to bring them to life. Now £2.49 in the sale (RRP £8.99). I’ll gift this with a nice set of colouring pencils.
