While browsing the Cass Art sale for new goodies for me, I stumbled across The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt (Harper Collins, RRP £12.99) on sale for £2.97. Illustarted by the ever-fabulous Oliver Jeffers, it tells the tale of poor Duncan who can’t colour in as his crayons have gone AWOL, leaving a bunch of letters. Beige is tired of playing second fiddle to Brown, Blue needs a break from colouring in all that water, while Pink just wants to be used. Green has no complaints, but Orange and Yellow are no longer speaking to each other and Red feels over worked. I’ve bagged a copy to go in the birthday party present bag. Check out the rest of the site too, because there are lots of bargains to be had!
