We’re off on our annual summer holiday, and, as always, the kids have grown too much since last summer and I need to stock up on holiday clothes. So, I fired up the internet and hot-footed it over to TK Maxx, a great store for Kidswear and toys, where everything is always up to 60% less than the RRP! They have loads of those super-popular giant pool floats in at the moment at from only £11. (That’s at least half the price of the RRP, I know because my kids have been begging for them for ages, and, yes, I gave in!). You can get all your other holiday essentials from luggage to sunglasses, and for the mamas, they have beautiful basket bags I spotted in my local store recently that I’m currently hankering over!
So, here’s what made it to the checkout for our summer holiday…
• Sunsafe swim set (UPF 50), £8 (RRP £33)
• Ultraflex jean shorts, £10, (RRP £29) I know Lola’s going to live in these, they’re so soft and stretchy.
• 100% cotton light denim pinafore dress. £9.99 (RRP £19.99)
• Paper planes tee £5.99 (RRP £14)
• Water melon tee, £5.99 (RRP £14) – My favourite. Everyone loves a watermelon at the moment.
• Hi-top trainers, £16.99 (RRP £52)
• Flip flops, £8 (RRP £22)
• Socks, £1.99 (RRP £7.99)
£191 worth of kidswear for the bargain price of £66.95! That’s a crazy saving! I also popped a few essentials in for myself – I’ll save those for another post. And look how happy the kids are with my purchases…
TK Maxx is brilliant, because you can find some great deals, and often you’ll find real gems from high-end brands (they refer to them as Gold Label), some of our favourite organic, fair trade and Scandi-based children’s designers, plus the big high-street names that the kids get to love as they grow.
Although the store is split into girlswear and boyswear, there’s a lot that features in both – no gender stereotypes spotted from my browsing. In fact, today, the one of the first items that pops up is a pair of insect print trousers in girls, and a pink tee in boys. It’s great to see that the store gets it!
So, grab yourself a cuppa and get bargain hunting from the comfort of your own home!
In collaboration with TK Maxx. All words our own, as always.
