Hard to believe it today as I sit here wrapped up in a ridiculous number of layers looking out on blustery autumnal weather (it’s June, for crying out loud!), but we spent most of last week on the beach in Norfolk. Just as I am always resolutely in SunSans while on holiday, Alfie is a great believer in wearing shorts. At all times. Sometimes, though, when he’s running in and out of the (freezing) North Sea or prancing around the garden after a swim, I find myself inadvertently shivering on his behalf. Step up, Harry B. Alfie was kindly sent a pair of these brilliant towelling shorts a few weeks ago and they were barely taken off while we were away – see dune jumping pic below.
Mama Harriet Bennett was fed up with her children complaining they were cold after swimming. She’d noticed children in New York wearing towelling shorts post pool, tried to find them here and failed, so took matters into her own hands. The unisex shorts are thick, long and cosy and feature big pockets, elasticated waists and animal applique and are reasonably priced at £14.50. You can also buy matching towels, £22.50, bright towelling-lined dresses, £20, and, for the mamas, pom pom-trimmed towelling and fabric wraps, £25, ideal for snuggling.
