After seeing Saria leaping around on the Fatboy beanbags at Bubble I have begun to think there might be room in our house for a modern styled beanbag. These HappyCat bean bags from Nordic Elements really appeal to me. From Danish designers Chrisitne Schwarzer and Anne Birgitte Balle of RoomMate they are designed to provide a backdrop for creative and imaginative play whilst fitting in with grown up design aesthetics.
They are based on the shape of a cat’s face but strongly remind me of a space hopper, especially in orange. The ‘ears’ look like they would make them easy to move around and position. The shape means it can be used as a beanbag seat, to lounge around on flat or, most importantly, dive bombing! They come in two sizes, eight colours and are machine washable. Large is 90 x 100 x 80 cm and suitable for school age children – £165. Small is 70 x 75 x 60 cm – £120.
