I spotted that a friend of mine is camping for a fortnight at what looks and sounds to be a glamping hotspot right up my street – Glisten Camping. If the thought of putting up a tent and packing up what seems like everything but the kitchen sink terrifies you (it’s really not that bad – I’m a convert although I still need to pack much lighter), Glisten have come up with a luxe alternative.
Geo Domes are striking, weather-resistant and UV protected tent alternatives with all of the equipment and bedding you need for your stay. They have solar powered lighting, hanging beds for the kids, king-size beds for us grown-ups, Fatboy beanbags, a gas-fired Plancha grill that heats, grills, and cooks whatever you need, and are basically pop-up havens in the great outdoors.
Am currently trying to hustle my husband Em into going before the end of the summer – like Claire’s husband he said, “Erm, we have a bell tent!” – but admittedly, even he can see the attraction with it plus there’s lots of places to go in the area. As an example, a 3-night stay on the last weekend in August is £330 for a dome that sleeps 6 (4 big people max) or £550 for 5 nights. They also have a deal on for September which is £495 for a week, for all you peeps that don’t have kids in the school system yet – grab these blummin’ breaks while you can! Check out Glisten Camping now!
