We all know how difficult it is to grab a few minutes to yourself when you have children, but if you can find a bit of me time, then I can thoroughly recommend treating yourself to a Space Mask – who could resist the tagline ‘Interstellar Relaxation’? Over a decade working on a fashion glossy has made me a bit of a sceptic when it comes to beauty products (I’ve tried ’em all), but I have to say that these cool little eye masks really live up to their claims. When you open the little pouch and remove the star-spangled mask it starts heating up (iron particles reacting with oxygen molecules), so pop it over your eyes hooking the elastic loops over your ears. Then, lie back and relax for fifteen minutes – on the bed, in the bath, wherever you fancy. I genuinely felt relaxed and refreshed when I took the mask off and my weary, contact lens-wearing eyes felt less dry and stressed. Each mask is infused with jasmine, which is one of my favourite fragrances, so I found it particularly soothing. Space Masks come in boxes of five for £15 and would make an ideal gift for a sleep-deprived new mama (or old one, for that matter) or anyone who needs a little help to drift off.
