If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that baby and toddler toys don’t have to be about garish plastic – we love discovering toys and activities that are engaging for children and good for the planet. Step forward EkoBambino, a subscription box service launched during lockdown, that aims to teach children about the value of things by introducing them to earth-friendly toys and activities. Boxes are filled with eco goodies – choose from Blossom for babies (containing a bamboo muslin, wooden teether and monochrome flash cards) or Buttercup for toddlers/preschoolers (peg dolls to decorate, paints, brush, wooden camera and eco activity pack) – contents vary each month. You’ll also find sustainable extras – an organic mesh bag for storing toys or taking to the supermarket and a packet of wildflower seeds, plus the box is covered in squiggles ready for colouring. A one-off box, £17.95, makes a super gift, or you can save by opting for a plan which renews every month for £14.95 or every three months for £13.45 a month.
