We’re weak for a bit of art here at BG and always on the lookout for cool artists. Northern Irish artist Dawn Crothers is an emerging talent currently on my radar with her quirky creations. Originally sculpting by day, she fell into painting by accident and has gathered quite a following. While she hasn’t set out to specifically create art with children in mind, her love of her animals has seen her fan’s children loving them too, so cue limited edition signed giclee prints in runs of 250.
Rich in texture, colour and depth, and often provoking a smile, I love the ‘Snail Marathon’ print which is certainly an unusual choice in animal and ‘The Angel Elephant’ is downright quirky, with snails, a bunny, rooster, cat, sheep and much more making an appearance and making it a talking point that could inspire more than a few stories. £75 each in varying sizes including 20″ X 16″, 16″ X 20″, 20″ X 20″ and 15″ X 20″.
