Yesterday I featured Magic Wall Magnetic Wall paint for when you want to magnetise a wall or play surface and now here are three chalkboard solutions for chalking up a playroom or child’s bedroom.
First up are Aspace’s chalkboard murals which are 22.5cm X 30 cm and come in packs of four. They’re peelable so they can be moved around plus they’re ideal if you only want a small surface, or just want to avoid too much labour. They were £20 and are currently £18 in the Aspace sale.
For a larger surface, for instance and entire feature wall, tins of paint are the way to go and a popular one is Crayola’s chalkboard paint which is £10.99 for a 550ml tin from Craig & Rose. A bit of digging revealed though that B&Q do 500 ml tubs of Funky Colors Chalkboard Effect Paint which is £6.48 and only available in store. Both are low VOC so kind to the environment.
If you want to put a chalkboard surface on a piece of furniture or quickly spray up a piece of wood to make an actual chalkboard, use Plasti-Kote spray paint which is available to buy from most of your usual major DIY stores and online for £5.99 for 400 ml cans from Paintsprays.co.uk.
