I went to a wedding with the boyf and baby Nia recently and I don’t know if it was the heat or the chiffon number I was wearing, but I experienced se-ri-ous leakage that day and felt like an overturned milk lorry! That’s why the concept of The Milk-Saver by US company Milkies had me curious.
Made from BPA and phthalate free plastic, you sit it inside your bra cup on the non nursing side and it collects up the leakage when your milk lets down. It comes with a case that you can stand it up in, plus you can remove the boob cup and fasten any breastmilk bag to it with an elastic band.
I’ve only been trying it out for a few days but must admit to being a tad shocked when 2oz milk had come out on the first try !
You know me, I like a life of ease and I’m finding it much harder to find the time to express second time round, so this is a really clever way of collecting what would have been wasted milk, and then bunging it in the freezer. It could be just me though, but they bill it as portable and discreet, but I look like Robocop with the full ensemble in, so I doubt that I’ll be going shopping in central London with this tomorrow! I shall experiment with the fit and report back but I have to say that so far, for home use, I’m very impressed. £24.96 from Breastpumps.co.uk
