I visited Bubble London, the kids fashion trade show at the Design Centre in Islington at the end of last month and got all swoonish when I clapped eyes on the Cocoon Couture stand. The Australian company was founded by mum of two Ingrid and you may recognise the beanbags from when we featured them a couple of years back, but there’s even more delights. Their gorgeous wooden room accessories such as the hand cut owl bookends (yeah yeah, I know I’m supposed to be on an owl diet) as well as bird and squirrel versions are divine. There’s also interactive wall art in the form of a plywood tile with some preprinted images and two sets of removable and reusable stickers, plus the wooden charms and mobiles that you can see hanging from the shelves, and shelf stands in the shape of trees are fab-u-lous! Using eco friendly FSC certified plywood finished with non-toxic varnish, and mixed with prints inspired by vintage wallpaper, they’re really charming, eye-catching pieces.
The beanbags are made with pinwale cord and feature applique using the same vintage inspired prints plus there are also wallcharts, book bags, and kinder bags. Due in stores in April – I’m pretty certain they’ll be very popular. In the meantime, Funky Moose has the owl bookends (one of the pricier items at £48) and a few kinder bags but will have loads more in stock.
