I remember last year when I was reading Sophie Kinsella’s ‘Shopaholic & Baby’ (not the best one of the series), I shuddered at the idea of making your own wipes (as she did) and yet less than a year on, I have received a package for review – the Cheeky Baby Wipes All-In-One Kit – and I’m quite curious about the prospect of going au natural. There’s no making going on here – instead it’s a fabulous washable wipes system with all you need to cut what they believe is about the £200 a year you’ll spend on the average baby wipes – kinder to your wallet and the environment!
Each kit which contains:
25 – soft Terry towelling cloth baby wipes, 15 cm x 15 cm
1 – Fresh baby wipes container
1 – Mucky baby wipes container – with mesh bag insert
1 – Fresh baby wipes waterproof out and about travel bag
1 – Mucky baby wipes waterproof out and about travel bag – with mesh bag insert
1 – 10 ml bottle of Lavender & Chamomile Fresh Baby Wipes Essential Oil Blend
1 – 10 ml bottle of Tea Tree & Tea Tree Lemon Mucky Baby Wipes Essential Oil Blend
So how do Cheeky Wipes work?
You fill the fresh wipes container with 2 cm of water and a few drops of the fresh wipes essential oil blend and then just drop your towelling cloths in and you’re ready to wipe. Fill up the mucky wipes container with 3 cm of water and the mucky essential oil blend and when you’ve wiped your baby’s bum, put the wipes inside the mesh bag insert so that you don’t have to handle them again. Pop them in the washing machine in the bag by loosening the mesh bag a bit and wash on 40 degrees. Don’t wait for them to dry; take out of the washing machine and put into your fresh wipes container.
Now even for me who moans about being time poor with an aversion to creating more washing, can get excited about something like this. I shall be trying out Cheeky Wipes from today and will be back soon with a review.
In the meantime, if you’d like to get in on what they call the “poo revolution” (snicker…loving a bit of poo humour), they are £29.95 at Cheeky Wipes.
