Like a lot of parents, I’ve had my nervous moments about being out and about with a toddler that needs to wee..like now so when I heard about the My Carry Potty , a lightweight, leakproof travel potty styled like a suitcase, I jumped at the offer from eco friendly and toxin free children’s boutique VUP Baby to try it out.
It’s had a few journeys out with us, but we have to say, this is a clever idea but suited to younger toddlers. Saria although only just over three, is very tall (people think she’s at least four) and while she could still sit on it, it was too tight a fit and there was some ‘spillage’ as the splashguard is not as effective when you’re that tall.
But for younger children, Nia who doesn’t like anyone to steal her thunder is regularly seen toting the My Carry Potty around and sitting on it, and she fits more than comfortably on it with plenty of room.
Other hot tips – As it’s leakproof, the My Carry Potty is very secure so I highly recommend that you practice opening and closing the clasp before it’s first use as you wouldn’t want to yank it and splash yourself! There is a knack to it.
Ours travelled a few hours full of wee in the back of the car and it didn’t have a drop out of it plus of course, if you’re somewhere where it can be emptied, then you can offload the contents straight away. Obviously there’s no bags to be fiddling with which is a bonus plus it’s easy to clean.
Younger potty trainers will really benefit from the My Carry Potty which is £19.99 and ideal for slinging in the back of the pushchair (it even fits into the umbrella fold Maclaren’s), car journeys, and of course camping, it can also be used as your main and only potty.
