I’ve always been a firm believer that just because you’ve had a baby, it doesn’t mean that your handbag style credentials go out the window, and thankfully, there are more and more bags to cause me to salivate. Your changing bag should be able to reflect your tastes and meet your practical needs, and if you’re the type of woman that’s partial to a designer handbag, you’ll love this selection. Trust me, nobody will even know that these are changing bags!
Sky’s the Limit….
Missoni Baby Changing Bag
I am a bit of a Missoni fan although the boyf hasn’t understood my arguments about buying their dinnerware… Known for their iconic knitwear designs in their distinctive colours and patterns, this is for the heavyweight style fiend amongst us… It features soft, cream leather handles and is big enough to be used as a weekend bag or as a changing bag with its removeable changing mat. And so it should be… It’s £589.96 at Childrensalon
Going uptown…
Chloe Changing (Diaper) Bag
If you’re a fan of gear that has logos on it (you may have been partial to DKNY bags) then you you’ll like this ivory offering from Chloe. It has a tiny beige logo detailing all over it and the changing mat is actually attached to the outside of the bag with poppers. This is one that definitely could be mistaken for a handbag although inside it elasticated and zipped pockets all the way.

Upping the ante…
StorkSak Elizabeth Bag
I love this changing bag and gave it quite a few strokes when I got to touch it in the flesh last month. Hmmm…soft…They’re made from durable washed cow hide, and the wipe-clean compartments pop-out so that a spacious cavity can be created to carry larger items. Even the thermo insulated bottle holder looks sleek and sexy. Oh did I mention that Angelina Jolie is a StorkSak fan?

Escada Ivory Baby Changing Bag
This could be the answer if you want some designer style without going too far into the hundreds. This slouch style ivory has a towelling changing mat attached inside and a gold piping running around the edges of the bag. The Escado logo is embroidered in gold thread and has pouches and pockets for keeping things organised.

Brilliant style on a budget
OiOi Black Patent Carry-All
I raved about this bag last week which is bang on trend with its patent exterior and excellent value, especially if you can’t bring yourself to spend 3 figures on a changing bag. It’s not all black either because when you open up the interior, it’s animal print all the way. It’s all spacious enough to be used as an overnighter or hospital bag.

Coming soon to the UK…
Mia Nappy Bag by Il Tutto
I checked out these Il Tutto bags which are made from the softest Italian leathers at Bubble London last month and resisted the urge to do a snatch and grab. This Aussie brand is carried by the likes of Cate Blanchett and the bags have been designed by Lucie Trinco, whom Kat and I met at the show. She honed her design skills in Milan and has designed for the likes of Jigsaw and Fiorelli. The bags are huge, so they’re perfect for the ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ mums amongst us and what’s even more fabulous is that you can buy an extra insert that converts it into a laptop bag. Yes…because mums do carry more than nappy wipes and snot rags! A woman after my own heart!
Aside from all of the usual bits and pieces, they have a cute but cool leather monster teddy that hangs from the strap loop. They aren’t on sale yet online in the UK but I was informed that they’ll cost somewhere between £200-£300. You can find out more at ll Tutto
