As a seaside dweller, seagulls are the scourge of my life, but there’s no denying that Cardigan’s lambswool version, £26.50, is majorly cute – there’s no way this cheeky chap in his jolly striped scarf would pinch your chips. I can’t get enough of offbeat animals as toys and that’s why Steven (Seagull, geddit?) will soon be joining our ever-growing menagerie. Cardigan is a Brighton-based company founded by ex-fashionista Kate Jenkins and the website boasts a host of arty knitted creations for adults including insects, cupcakes and even cigarettes – the fruit and veg keyrings, £5 each, would make delicious stocking fillers.
