Natalie has already brought you some of the Bubble London highlights from this week’s trade show now it’s time to focus on some of the key trends we spotted.

Frills and ruffles have been more prominent for girls in recent seasons but Spring Summer 2011 sees delicate lace and vintage trimmings teamed with layers of tulle. This trend isn’t limited to the delicate powder room colour palette but is seen in bright colours especially yellow.

Poster Paint colours are seen in lots of collections but most notably in sweat shirts. There is a big move to simple bold colour blocks especially for boys. These colours will lend themselves to mixing and matching with prints and stripes to become wardrobe staples which won’t fade into the background. Of course stripes are always big and our friends Katvig don’t disappoint with a brand new range of stripes and solids for SS11.
Clockwise from top left: Bouton, Christina Rohde and Eggcup Clothing Co.
Delicate printed fabrics are another story which is seen in many collections. Liberty Prints are every body’s darling and following a strong year of collaborations in 2010 they are seen in Christins Rohde’s SS11 collection. Queens of the delicate print Ilovegorgeous showed another strong range of girls’ clothing with a colour palette covering muted to bright.

A trend which seems to run and run is the Nautical. SS11 was giving me a red, white and blue tiddly om pom pom vibe. There were plenty of over-sized bows and even the odd sailor boy bib as well as the bolder wide stripe and polo necks of the yachting club.
