Britax is a long established brand that seems to be gaining in popularity over the last few months, particularly with the release of their rather cool Baby Safe Sleeper, a lie flat car seat that can also be used as a moses basket, and also as the carrycot on today’s featured pushchair the Britax Vigour 4+ Pushchair.
Weighing in at 10.6kg, this is at the mid end of travel system weights. I have been informed by the few people I know that own one, that whilst it is heavy, because it folds down compactly, it’s not difficult to handle.
The frame is a ‘lightweight’ aluminium chassis and it’s a 4-wheeler although there is a 3-wheeler version called the 3+. Unsurprisingly for a brand that’s well known for their car seats, it’s really robust. It’s got a reversible, fully reclining seat, adjustable handlebar, and one handed recline action, plus all round suspension and lockable front swivel wheels with quick release tyres on the back (not pneumatic).
It comes in 4 colours, kingfisher blue, mars red, anthracite (black and grey) or the ivory pictured.
The RRP is £249.99 and with the carrycot it’s £369.99.
Kiddicare are currently selling the pushchair only for £202.97 although they don’t have it in the blue.
Ideal for: All rounders as it’s suitable for off roading and being out and about in town. Britax is a brand of reliability so you’re not likely to follow the style crowd if you buy this.
Bang for your style buck: Average, although it does look best in ivory but I’d dread keeping it clean. It’s a safe, albeit good look but it’s not breaking the style mode in terms of travel systems and you can buy more stylish with a little less weight for the same price.
Weight range: Medium for a travel system.
Don’t forget that you can see other pushchairs and prams we’ve featured in our new feature The Pushchair Track.
